iMapp Bucharest is one of the largest 3D video mapping competitions in the world that brings design, contemporary art and show directly on the 23,000 square meter façade of the Parliament Palace (the second largest administrative building in the world). Throughout five editions, the festival brought together audiences of over 300,000 spectators and has become a reference subject for international audiovisual industry specialists.
iMapp Bucharest brings to Bucharest, every September, the best multimedia artists in the world, presenting their creations on the façade of the Parliament Palace. At the end of the event, two awards are granted: the Jury Award and the Audience Award. The artworks of the participants are analyzed by a specialized jury, consisting of distinguished experts and important representatives of the international visual culture, in the field of visual arts, communication, media and film. iMapp Bucharest has an essential interactive component every year, with the public choosing a favorite team via SMS. Thus, the team that gathers the most votes by SMS is the winner of the Audience Award.
Prior to the 3D video mapping contest, local and international renowned artists perform on the stage in Constituției Square, which officially opens the event with electrifying concerts.
In 2016, iMapp Bucharest was nominated in the Live Event of the Year section of the AV Awards from London – a well-known international competition meant to recognize and award excellence across the audiovisual industry, organized by the AV Magazine from the UK, a publication that has been the authority in the field of audiovisual review for more than 40 years and enjoys recognition in Europe and beyond.
iMapp Bucharest is organized by Bucharest City Hall, through Creart – Center for Creation, Art and Tradition of Bucharest Municipality.
